Ladislav Vargovcik

Ing. Ladislav Vargovčík, PhD. je absolventom Technickej univerzity v Košiciach (1978), kde v roku 2012 získal titul PhD v oblasti servisnej robotiky.

Do roku 2015 pracoval v priemyselnom výskume (ZTS VVU KOSICE a.s.) ako hlavný konštruktér, obchodný riaditeľ a projektový manažér. V súčasnosti pôsobí na SjF TUKE ako riaditeľ Prototypového a inovačného centra so zameraním na robotiku a výrobné systémy.

Ako projektový manažér sa podieľal na riešení 6 medzinárodných projektov v 7.RP a H2020 zameraných na servisnú a priemyselnú robotiku.

V pozícii projektového manažéra sa v období 2001 až 2015 podieľal na riešení 6 projektov pre CERN v Ženeve. Z nich hneď prvý bol v roku 2005 ocenený zlatou plaketou „Golden Hadron“ za najlepšiu dodávku pre CERN.

V európskej robotickej platforme euRobotics je vedúcim odbornej skupiny Harsh Environment Robotics

V OECD NEA je členom expertnej skupiny pre aplikáciu robotiky pri vyraďovaní jadrových elektrární.

V rámci euRobotics pôsobí ako národný koordinátor slovenskej časti Európskeho týždňa robotiky (2011-dodnes)

Ladislav Vargovcik (MEng., PhD., Male) - Currently working as a Director of Prototyping and Innovation Centre at TUKE.

Graduated in 1978 at Technical University in Kosice where he majored in Machine Design. He finished his PhD study in 2012 in the field of mobile robotic systems.

In 1986-1995 he was chief designer at the ZTS VVU KOSICE in the field of heavy duty and mobile robotics. In 1995- 2015 he was involved in conceptual preparation of new R&D tasks and leadership of international projects as division director.

As a project manager, he participated in the solution of 6 international projects in the 7th FP and H2020 focused on service and industrial robotics.
 
In the position of project manager, between 2001 and 2015, he participated in the solution of 6 projects for CERN in Geneva. The very first of them was awarded the "Golden Hadron" gold plaque in 2005 for the best delivery to CERN.

Within NATO he was involved as team leader for Robotic Platforms in the NIAG – SG 118 and SG 128 studies dedicated to solution of reconnaissance robotic equipment applied in fighting terrorism in urban warfare and UAVs for the C-IED.

In the European robotics platform euRobotics, he is the coordinator of the Harsh Environment Robotics Topic Group
In the OECD NEA he is a member of the expert group for the application of robotics in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.
 
As part of euRobotics, he acts as the national coordinator of the Slovak part of the European Robotics Week (2011-present)
